DOWNLOAD OUR DEHUMIDIFICATION FOR WATER DAMAGED BUILDING IN WISCONSIN CASE STUDY
Dehumidification and Power after Water Damage at Building in Wisconsin
After heavy Midwest storms soaked the interior of a residential building, the restoration team contacted Garrett McKenzie for rapid drying support. Our technicians mobilized quickly with a 5,000 CFM desiccant dehumidifier and a 100 kW generator to stabilize the site and begin the drying process without delay.
The Situation
A strong storm swept across Illinois and Wisconsin, flooding parts of a residential property and leaving large areas of the interior saturated with water. Building staff called their restoration contractor, who immediately reached out to Garrett McKenzie for a high-capacity desiccant dehumidifier rental and the temporary power required to run it.
The Response
The call arrived in the morning and carried a clear sense of urgency. The GM team selected the right equipment sizes and accessories based on discussions with the restoration crew. A crane truck was loaded with the DH 5000 unit, and the generator was secured to a tow vehicle. Another technician gathered tools, ducting, lay-flat, and power distribution gear. Within hours, the team was en route to the project location.
The Execution
Upon arrival, the crew unhooked the generator and used the crane truck to place the dehumidifier in the tight equipment footprint available on site. After connecting the dehumidifier to the generator, technicians ran lay-flat ducting through the interior.
Less than five hours after the initial call, the building was receiving dry air and recovery work had started.
The Result
The equipment ran continuously for one week. The building interior dried quickly due to the high-volume airflow of the desiccant dehumidifier. Restoration crews completed their work to the satisfaction of both the building staff and residents. All equipment was removed once the structure was confirmed dry and stable.
